Frequently Asked Questions

 Inclusive Rhythms

Q: My child struggles with big emotions or following instructions. Is that okay?

A: Absolutely. This is a neuro-affirming space designed specifically for children with Autism, ADHD, and sensory needs. We expect different behaviors and do not punish them. If your child needs to move, vocalize, or take a break, that is fully supported.

Q: Do I need to stay with my child?

A:

  • Little Beats (3-5yrs): Parents are generally asked to remain on-site or nearby. If your child requires support with toileting, you must remain on-site as our staff cannot provide personal care.

  • Junior Beats (6-9yrs): This is designed as a "drop-off" session to foster independence. However, if your child has specific personal care needs, please discuss this with us beforehand.

Q: Who is running the sessions?

A: Your child is in safe hands. The program is led by Carla an MSc Specialist in Child Mental Health & Educational Psychology. We maintain strict, low ratios of staff-to-children to ensure everyone gets the attention they need to feel safe.

Q: Where are the sessions held?

A: We meet at the Fitzwilliams Centre in Beaconsfield. It is a safe, accessible venue chosen for its suitability for our groups.

Q: Is this just a music class?

A: No, it is a specialist developmental intervention. While we use music and rhythm as our tools, the goal is not to learn an instrument but to build social confidence, emotional regulation, and communication skills. The sessions are led by a specialist in Child Mental Health & Psychology, not just a music teacher.

Q: What if my child doesn't settle or wants to quit?

A: We understand that trying something new is a risk. If your child struggles to settle within the first 2 sessions of the 6-week block, we offer a flexible refund or credit policy for future terms. You are not "locked in" if it clearly isn't working for them.

Q: Can I get help with the costs?

A: Yes. Thanks to the National Lottery Community Fund, our fees are already subsidized by 66%. If you require a fully funded (free) place due to financial circumstances, please ask your SENCO, GP, or Social Worker to contact us for a referral form.

Q: What does a typical session look like?

A: We start with a sensory settling period, move into rhythmic games and turn-taking with with a featured instrument, and finish with a calming cool-down. The structure is consistent every week to help children feel safe.
