Do you overly praise your child for being "easygoing" or "always going with the flow," even when you know they just let another child dictate all the rules? Praising boundary-dropping actively reinforces people-pleasing. Today, validate their right to disagree. Teach them a safe script for holding their ground: "I don't like playing that game, but I will play [alternative game] with you." Teach them that a friend who gets angry when they say "no" is not a safe space.
